About

My name is Melinda and I only started this blog as a 19 year old. Then I went through college and forgot all about this blog.

Fast forward 5 years and I've graduated, gotten married, and moved in with my in-laws! Cooking has gotten fun over the years and though I'm not good at it, I do strive to be better. My biggest challenge is cooking all the good Chinese food I grew up with. My mom never used recipes so I've been going off of recipes found online and adjusting them as I go.

That's me and my husband on our wedding day at the Salt Lake Temple. I still can't believe that I got him a regular tie instead of a bow tie. It simply never occurred to me until I saw him wearing it as we left the temple. What was I thinking??

Here's a big family picture on my husband's side. I'm the one with the black hair. Anyways, my husband, Christopher, is the oldest of eight siblings. We currently live with his parents (mother pictured in the black sweater in the middle row and father pictured in the middle of the top row) as well as his two youngest sisters, Natalie and Celeste. Celeste is the little 7 year old up front and Natalie is the one wearing the light blue sweater to her right, next to the baby.

It's just the six of us at home in Texas. Eventually Christopher and I will move out, once we get jobs and build up some money. But until then, his mother is more than happy to spend money for me to cook for her. For our tummies, that's a win-win.
